For gaming in 2025, we recommend a minimum of 16GB DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. Modern games like Cyberpunk 2077, Microsoft Flight Simulator and upcoming AAA titles can use between 12-14GB on high settings. 32GB is ideal if you also stream, edit videos or do intensive multitasking.
The RTX 4070 offers 15-20% more performance than the 4060 Ti, especially at 1440p resolutions. If you play at 1080p, the 4060 Ti is sufficient and more economical. For 1440p gaming or if you plan to use intensive ray tracing, the RTX 4070 justifies the additional investment. Both include DLSS 3 for better performance.
It depends on your gaming style. For competitive gaming (Valorant, CS2, Apex), 1080p 240Hz offers advantage in response and fluidity. For immersive gaming and productivity, 1440p 144Hz provides better visual quality. Consider your GPU: RTX 4060 Ti or lower = 1080p 240Hz; RTX 4070 or higher = 1440p 144Hz.
Gaming laptops offer portability but with thermal limitations and less performance per dollar invested. A desktop PC with the same budget will always be more powerful and upgradeable. Choose laptop if you need mobility (student, frequent travel). Choose desktop PC if you prioritize maximum performance and future upgrades.
